Just had a visit with Dad. He was alert and talkative for most of the visit. He was very confused about how to get from the table to the couch. He kept talking about how to get to the other side of the river instead of the room. Other than that, he looked good. I am going to bring latkes and donuts for Chanukah next week.

Had a brief visit with Dad today. He was very confused about where he was. He asked about the girls and Tony, so that was good, but didn’t recognize them in a recent photo. He fell asleep half way through my visit.

Saw Dad today. He was alert but not as talkative today. He did talk about being in Puerto Rico and traveling, his usual topics. He looked good. We were talking about the girls and what their middle names were. I told him Shira’s middle name was Rose and I asked him if he knew who that was. He said he didn’t, then I told him she was Phyllis’ mom. I asked him if he remembered who Phyllis was. He said no, doesn’t sound familiar, tore another piece of my heart.

Had a nice visit with Dad today. He was very restless. He still recognized me and asked about the girls. The staff said he is doing well and is appetite is still good. Appetite is one of the markers of decline in Alzheimer’s patients, so it’s something we are tracking.

Just left my visit with Dad. He was very talkative today. He asked about the girls and if we were going on a family cruise this winter. Rare moments of clarity. He was in good spirits and looked like he gained some weight back.

Just left my visit with Dad. He was not very talkative today. It was a struggle today. I wanted to ask for his forgiveness but knew he wouldn’t understand. It breaks my heart.

Tony and I had a nice visit with Dad today. He was alert and talkative.

I had a call with his doctor and psychiatrist last week. They are keeping his medication steady. The nurse noted that they are seeing a gradual decline in his overall health. This is to be expected at this stage.

I had a nice visit with Dad today. He wasn’t as talkative today as usual. The staff said his eating and sleeping have been off the past week. He has lost some more weight. I have a meeting with his doctor and psychiatrist on Thursday and will pay again if I have any new information.

We had a nice visit with Dad today. He was very talkative. His condition is stable. We talked about him going on a trip and looked at a photo album I made for him.

We will be going on vacation for the next two weeks, so I won’t be posting again until August.

We had a good visit with Dad today. He was alert and very talkative. No real change from our last visit. We brought him a slice of cheesecake from the local diner which he likes.
